System Components
Senzomatic platform consists of specialized sensors, a central unit, wireless/IOT connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and advanced algorithms that evaluate collected data in real time.
Central unit
Data from the sensors are transmitted by the central unit to the cloud, where they are analyzed by an algorithm. Each device is also equipped with local storage that records fast events (e.g., vibrations) or serves as a backup in case of data transmission failure.
Moisture sensors
detect the risk of timber degradation and provide alerts about possible fungal or insect infestation.
Resistive pin-type (range 3%–90% absolute moisture).
Deformation sensors
wire strain gauges, force, and displacement sensors monitor deflections and structural movement, making it possible to assess load-bearing capacity.The final measurement range is 0 to 8 cm, or from 1 ton and above.
Prestress force sensors
monitor the tension of structural elements to prevent a decrease in stability.
Range: 0 to 150 kN, or equivalent.
Accelerometers
capture bridge vibrations and reveal dynamic behavior during vehicle crossings.
Range: 0 to 20 Hz.
Temperature sensors
track variations in roadway and bridge structure temperature that directly influence durability and service life.
Range: -30 °C to +80 °C.
Water level sensors
provide data on the state of the watercourse beneath the bridge and issue warnings of potential floods. They measure the distance of the water surface from the bridge in centimeters, with wave effects filtered out.

are monitored by measuring timber humidity, temperature and pH. Indicates whether structure is threatened by rot, wood-decaying mold, or insects.

3. Serviceability limit state

SENZOMATIC is a product platform developed by the Czech company MoistureGuard s.r.o., which specializes on the development and production of advanced moisture monitoring systems for wooden buildings. The SENZOMATIC technology was developed thanks to several years of research at the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT UCEEB) and other leading institutions, where we collaborated with scientific teams to create unique sensors, algorithms, and systems for detecting risks associated with wood moisture.
